This was the pond in late March. It'd been a cold winter and spring and
the pond was just starting to show life again.
And here is the pond as it later appeared on May 1st (May Day). It
overcame its late start beautifully, except the 5-finger ferns just below the
waterfall lip (in the `apron' we created of chicken wire and plastic with soil
inside, camouflaged by sphagnum moss between the wire and plastic)
was just starting to show life again due to the hard freeze and dry period last
Dec.)
